In his early adulthood, Xiuhtezcatl has grown a global platform to uplift community-led solutions to the climate crisis through a combination of art, storytelling and creative organizing. Recently, he has been the face of global sustainability and Latinx heritage campaigns with brands like Levis, Nike and Dr. Martens, and currently serves as a social impact advisor to Seventh Generation.
Throughout his decade-long speaking career, Xiuhtezcatl has delivered speeches and performed music at over 100 conferences, institutions and schools across the world. His two books, We Rise and Imaginary Borders, are taught in thousands of classrooms, and he has made hundreds of press appearances, including on The Daily Show with Trevor Noah, Real Time with Bill Mahr, PBS Newshour, CNN, MSNBC and Univision. He holds dozens of awards and is listed on TIME Magazine's "30 Under 30 List" and Rolling Stone's "25 Under 25."
Xiuhtezcatl is multilingual, having spent his early childhood between Colorado and his Indigenous homelands in Xochilmico, Mexico. He is currently based in Los Angeles, California, where he is working on his forthcoming album and scoring for film and TV. He is represented by Next Models and recently signed with the Creative Artists Agency's (CAA) music division.
